Things to Carry
Trekking as an activity introduces you to unseen beauty the world has to offer. While you move away from the hustle-bustle of the cities to a wilderness that is untouched, you experience how beautiful this world really is.

When you leave the city live to experience real life, you stay away from the simple materialistic things in life that we consider important. Hence, it is of paramount importance to carry the right things on a trek. This will ensure you remain safe and comfortable in the arms of nature.

What you carry depends on the region length and difficulty of the trek of the trek. However, below is a list of things to carry on a trek that is recommended on a Himalayan Trek by Adventure Activities Promoters.

Rucksacks form a very important part of your trekking experience. While a comfortable rucksack can help make your trekking experience a pleasure, the wrong one means you will spend most of your trek fidgeting with it rather than enjoying the beauty around you.

As you will be carrying all your stuff in your rucksack during a trek, it is important that the size, fit and comfort of your rucksack is just perfect. Aim to carry a pack that is big enough to hold the essentials, yet not too big that it will weigh you down. The size will depend on how many days your trek is and whether or not you will camp. Don’t forget to bring a rain cover to protect your backpack in storms.

If you’re carrying a DSLR camera and multiple lenses consider packing a separate camera bag to protect your gear and to allow you easy access to it.

Adventure Activities Promoters provide rucksacks for Select treks. These rucksacks are carefully created to ensure your comfort and make sure everything you want fits well.

We also provide porter services on select treks, which means you can enjoy the beauty all around you without having to worry about carrying your rucksack on the trek. However it is recommended to carry a small rucksack with you to hold your eatables and drinking water while you move from one campsite to another.
The Right Shoes
When on a trek, shoes may be the most important equipment that you use. A good shoe can make your trip comfortable while a wrong one can break your trek. So invest in a good, solid and comfortable shoe in advance and use them beforehand to ensure they are comfortable before you get on with the trekking.

Find out in advance if you need high-cut hiking shoes for ankle support as this may influence your decision in purchasing the right shoes. If your ankles are strong, you do not need high-cut shoes.

While selecting the ideal trekking shoes, make sure they are waterproof and quick drying. These are essential as your trekking route may require you to cross streams and walk while it’s raining. This is also essential if you are trekking in the Sahyadri Ranges during the monsoon.

Also, it is advisable to carry a pair of floaters or flip-flops during a trek. After a long day of walking, you may want to get out of your shoes and give your feet a rest. At the same time, it is important to protect yourself from bushes on a trek.

Adventure Activities Promoters ensure that every trek route is carefully tested to ensure your safety and comfort on a trek. Hence, it may not be essential to buy very expensive trekking shoes on a trek.

We also undertake treks during monsoons in the Sahyadri Ranges for which, waterproof and quick drying shoes are recommended.
